House Keeping:

True North Conference & Lou Engle this coming week

Faith Fuel Video Devotionals this week – how to hear the voice of God

Testimonies

A) Tips Coming Out of 12 Days of Relentless Love

Establish “new norms”

Obey immediately

Keep going deeper in love (bind it to our hearts all year long)

This week is key!

Question: Where do we go from here?

B) God wants the G.T.A. to experience His RELENTLESS LOVE!

Acts 19 – the church in Ephesus

Harvest

Healing, Signs & Wonders

Transformation

Example of the Welsh Revival

As revival fire spread across Wales in late 1904 and early 1905, although no official records were kept of the actual number converted, 150,000 is considered a very conservative estimate, during the first six months! People’s lives were transformed by the thousands. This was indeed, a sovereign move of God’s Holy Spirit!

Whole communities were turned upside down, and were radically changed from depravity to glorious goodness. The crime rate dropped, often to nothing. The police force reported that they had little more to do than supervise the coming and going of the people to the chapel prayer meetings, while magistrates turned up at courts to discover no cases to try. The alcohol trade was decimated, as people were caught up more by what happened in the local chapels than the local public houses and bars. Families experienced amazing renewal, where the money earning husband and father, the bread winner, had wasted away the income and sowed discord, but now under the moving power of the Holy Spirit, following the conversion to be a follower of Jesus Christ, he not only provided correctly for family needs, but was now with the family, rather than wasting his time, and wages, in the public houses of the village or town. Souls were saved, individual lives were changed and Society itself was changed. Countless numbers were converted to Christ.

There are men and women still in churches today whose parents or grandparents’ testimonies were that they were converted in the Revival in 1904 or 1905. Not only were individual lives changed by the power of the Holy Spirit, but whole communities were changed, indeed society itself was changed. Wales again was a God-fearing nation! Public houses were now almost empty. Men and women who used to waste their money getting drunk were saving it, giving it to help their churches, buying clothes and food for their families. And not only drunkenness, but stealing and other offences grew less and less, so that often a magistrate came to court, and found there were no cases for him.

Men whose language had been filthy before, learnt to talk purely. It is related that not only did the colliers put in a better day’s work, but also that the pit ponies were so used to being cursed and sworn at, that they just couldn’t understand orders being given in kind, clean words! Yet, still the work output increased. The dark tunnels underground in the mines echoed with the sounds of prayer and hymns, instead of oaths and nasty jokes and gossip.

People who had been careless about paying their bills, or paying back money they had borrowed, paid up all they owed. People who had fallen out became friends again

[Source]

C) Key: God is looking for men/women who will work with Him

Mark 16:15-20 – The Lord working with them

1 Cor 12:27 – We are His body

Ez 22:30 – I looked for a man who would stand in the gap

Isaiah 6:8 – Who will go for us?

God is raising a missionary movement in Church Without Limits… we will release missionaries to the nations but right now we need to be missionaries to the Greater Toronto Area

Ex: John Leonard Dober and David Nitschman – Moravian Missionaries who sold themselves into slavery… “May the lamb that was slain receive the reward of His suffering”

D) So what do we need to do?

Dream BIG, start small

Goal: in 2012 we would believe God and set our faith to double (2 X Vision)

How? That we would commit to:

Love

Pray, Pray, Pray – “I would rather teach one man to pray than ten men to preach” – Spurgeon

Operation 2X – Each one, reach one (John 1:42, Acts 8:26, Acts 9:10)

It is time for Church Without Limits to be a “Church without walls”

Today is the final day of our church-wide time of fasting and prayer! I have been so excited to see how many members of our church family have really pushed themselves during this time to seek the LORD… I know that God has and will continue to honor your for it.

As we come off a fast (especially a longer one) it is important that we do so wisely. The International House of Prayer gives some great tips for breaking a fast in their Fasting Guidelines and Information handout:

Break your fast gradually. At this point you will need to exercise watchful self-control. Break your fast on a meal that is light and easy to digest (i.e., a pound of grapes, a shredded apple, watermelon, or steamed vegetables).

When breaking a fast of ten days or more, the break-in period should be extended one day for every four days of fasting.

A fast of three days or more should never be broken by eating a normal meal (including animal proteins, bread, sugar, dairy, and processed foods) because these heavy foods put a severe strain and shock on the digestive organs which have been resting throughout the fast. Eating too heavily after a fast can produce serious discomfort (stomach cramps, nausea, and weakness) and can nullify the physical benefits of fasting; it can also cause serious irreversible complications or even death.

After breaking an extended fast, continue drinking fruit or vegetable juices because the stomach is continuing to detoxify.

During any fast exceeding two days, your stomach will shrink. Do not over-expand it again by overeating. If you have been prone to eating too heavily, guard against going back to this habit. If you train yourself to eat more lightly, your stomach will adjust itself accordingly.

While continuing to drink fruit or vegetable juices, add the following:

1st–3rd day after the fast (increase amount of days for extended fast): Eat fruit and raw/steamed vegetables only. Example meals for the first few days are a pound of fruit, a baked or boiled potato without butter, steamed vegetables, or a vegetable-only salad without oil-based dressing. Avoid bananas for the first few days; they have no juice in them and can easily cause constipation.

Thereafter, you may return to heavier foods such as animal proteins, but maintaining a healthy diet after the fast will promote lifelong health and allow you to fast correctly in the future.

Take extra care in breaking a water fast. Begin with drinking fruit or vegetable juices and gradually ease into eating fruit and steamed vegetables.

It is important after a fast to begin to discern between real hunger and cravings so you do not feed your cravings.

In other words… if you have been fasting the 12 days don’t go out and get a burger and fries tonight after service… you will be paying for it!

See you at our closing service tonight! We are really exciting to having Peter and Heather Jackson joining us. The Jackson’s carry a real anointing to minister the Father’s Love – it is going to a great closing night!

One of my personal focuses during the 12 Days of Relentless Love here at Church Without Limits has been growing in walking/resting in the fact that I’m a son of God. It all started (in many ways) when I got my hands on a copy of Spiritual Slavery to Spiritual Sonship by Jack Frost. I don’t feel I have arrived in this but that I’m actually just getting started in many ways – growing in this revelation will be a major focus for me in 2012.

I came across a great article by Jack (he is actually now with the LORD) that summed up a lot of the concepts in the book (get the book though, article doesn’t do it justice) and really gives a bit of a windom into the concept. Make sure you check out the chart that it links – it is what really helped things to hit home with me (You can actually download the chart yourself and get a number of other great articles/resources by Jack Frost at www.shilohplace.org).

From Slavery to Sonship by Jack Frost

What we see taking place in the natural is often a reflection of what is beginning to occur in the spiritual (1 Corinthians 15:46). I want to briefly review and build upon that. The spirit of Ishmael (the orphan heart) warring against the spirit of Isaac (the spirit of a son) seems to be the dominating spirit upon the earth today. The same spirit that is releasing terrorism upon the earth is also prevalent within all of society. Rivalry, envy, and jealousy produce violence within both the natural and spiritual realms as we compete with one another for the hearts of people and seek to establish our own land. Our search for acceptance, significance, and identity often results in a wrestling match as we grasp for what we deem is rightfully ours. It is evident within politics, the workplace, the entertainment and sports industries, and sadly, even within the Church. The result can be a “holy war” unconsciously proclaimed by those with an orphan heart as they struggle with their brethren for position, and authority, and inheritance.

Ishmael (meaning “whom God hears”), was the first-born of Abraham to Hagar, the handmaiden of Sarah, Abraham’s wife. At 16 years of age, Ishmael was forced into the wilderness, away from his father, because of jealousy and rivalry between the two women over whose son would have rights to the inheritance of Abraham (Genesis 21:9- 21). Arabic historians divide the Arabs into two races: (1) Pure Arabs, descendants of Joktan; and (2) Mixed Arabs, descendants of Ishmael. The prophecies from Genesis 16:12 and 25:18 are now and have always been true: “And he (Ishmael) will be a wild donkey of a man, his hand will be against everyone, and everyone’s hand will be against him… He settled in defiance of all his relatives.” Since the moment Ishmael experienced rejection from his father through the next 3900 years, many of Ishmael’s descendants’ attitudes, dispositions, manners, habits, government, or dress have not changed. What also has not changed is the tension between the one who lives life as if he does not have a home (the spirit of an orphan) and the one who is secure in his father’s love and heart (the spirit of sonship).

Often within the church, it is difficult to tell whether a person walks in the heart attitude of an orphan or a son (this includes daughters). Outwardly, a person may have a pattern of service, sacrifice, discipline, and apparent loyalty, but you do not know what is inside a person until he or she gets bumped. Then the attitude of the heart overflows at a time when they feel they are not getting the recognition or favor they deserve. Somehow the difference lies in the motives and intentions of the heart. Let us look at the following chart and see what is revealed as we put definitions to the terms “spiritual orphan” and “spiritual son” and place them side by side in contrast with one another.

“It is for discipline that you endure; God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? But if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. Furthermore, we had earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them; shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of spirits, and live?” (Hebrews 12:7-9)

Click here see a chart comparing the Heart of an Orphan vs. the Heart of Sonship

With the chart and scriptures listed, let’s define the orphan spirit and the spirit of sonship. The orphan spirit causes one to live life as if he does not have a safe and secure place in the Father’s heart. He feels he has no place of affirmation, protection, comfort, belonging, or affection. Self-oriented, lonely, and inwardly isolated, he has no one from whom to draw Godly inheritance. Therefore, he has to strive, achieve, compete, and earn everything he gets in life. It easily leads to a life of anxiety, fears, and frustration.

The spirit of sonship is all about having a heart attitude of submission – being subject to another’s mission. Jesus Himself said, “The Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner.” (John 5:19) In Hebrews 12:9, “Be subject” is also the word “submission.” In the Greek, this word means “to get underneath and to push up.” So to have the spirit of sonship is to put yourself underneath another’s mission and do all you can to make them successful, knowing that as a son/daughter, there is an inheritance that lies ahead. Sonship is about security, significance, identity, patience, basic trust, faithfulness, loyalty, humility, and being others-oriented.

After reading through the contrast chart and definitions, you probably are saying to yourself, “Woe is me!” You may fit into only some of the categories, but most likely you will have some bleed-over between the two. Now perhaps you can see why walking in healthy relationships with God and/or others has been so difficult for you or someone you know.

The orphan spirit is not something you can cast out because it is ungodly beliefs and/or attitudes of our flesh that has been developing over a lifetime. It has become part of our personality and character. It must be displaced (put to death) by a personal experience in the Father’s love and a revelation of the spirit of sonship. This will require a re-positioning of our life. Peter Lord recently said, “If you keep doing what you have been doing, you’re going to keep getting what you already got!”

We must first acknowledge our need for change. Between 1988 and 1991, Trisha and I were on staff with Pastor Houston Miles at Evangel Cathedral in Spartanburg, SC. At that time, we had no revelation of what it meant to live life as a spiritual orphan or as a son/daughter. We thought we were faithful and loyal staff members. We never spoke against the pastor. We did not stir up strife. But we acted more like servants than sons as we slaved to build the church and our ministry. Until we received a revelation of sonship, we could not see that we were not there in a spirit of sonship – subject to another’s mission and doing everything to make him more successful. We were there to build a name for ourselves. We were using that season and Pastor Miles as stepping stones to go on to what we wanted to do. We did not value him for relationship, but for what he could do for us by making us successful in our ministry.

A parent can pick up on a wrong spirit quickly in their children, but they continue to love and nurture. Pastor Miles sensed our spirits and continued to honor us, but he could not fully trust us when we started Shiloh Place Ministries in 1991. As an apostolic covering for many pastors, churches, and for us, he believed in what we were doing and the anointing upon us to minister to leaders. But he could not fully endorse and promote us because he knew the motives of our hearts were often tainted with spiritual ambition. As we struggled to build the ministry, we often reasoned that he had the power to make us more successful and visible, but could not understand why he seemed to withhold that from us. Sadly, it took us years to receive the revelation that this was not about Pastor Miles, but about the orphan spirit within us.

Then in October 1997, a close friend, Pastor Roger Gosnell, told us that he felt the motives of our hearts were not pure in relationship to Pastor Miles and Evangel Fellowship International (EFI), the minister’s fellowship he founded and of which we are a part. At first, we could see no fault on our part because we worked so hard to do everything right. The orphan spirit usually struggles with self-deception and points fault elsewhere. For several weeks we searched our heart attitudes, and the Holy Spirit began to convict us of many of the characteristics of the spiritual orphan within us. We faced the truth that we were with EFI and on staff at Evangel Cathedral years earlier for the same purpose: what they could do to promote us so that we could build our ministry.

Second, we began to confess to one another the sins of the orphan spirit. As we began to acknowledge our impure motives, it was as if we stepped out of darkness and into the light. Soon, we could sense the motives behind our ministry beginning to shift. We knew that in order to move more deeply into this revelation, we needed to go to Pastor Miles and share our hearts with him.

Third, we felt there was a need to receive forgiveness from those against whom we had sinned. I (Jack) took a four-hour drive just to meet with Pastor Miles and tell him how our eyes had been opened. I shared how, for nine years, we lacked a spirit of sonship and related to him for what he could do for us and not for how we could make the vision God had given him more successful. We did not intentionally dishonor him. It was an unconscious grasping within us for position and recognition. We were blinded by our own orphan issues to our own need! He said something like, “I forgave you long ago, but was waiting for you to see it yourself and acknowledge your need.” It was as if the relationship with us was reborn as basic trust was restored.

Fourth, Trisha and I knew this would be a daily walk of repentance. The spirit of sonship was not a garment we put on, but it was a change of heart so deep that it brought change to our habits. A new passion was awakened within us to be a blessing in every way possible to Pastor Miles, EFI, and our local church. No longer did we want to bless in order to get something in return. No longer did we grudgingly give of our finances. No longer did we have to be seen or accepted. We knew our identity was in the Father’s love, and it became the desire of our hearts to do everything we could to see another’s vision and calling fulfilled.

Fifth, we received revelation on sowing into our inheritance. God soon branded on our hearts several verses: “For if the Gentiles have shared in their spiritual things, they are indebted to minister to them also in material things.” “And let the one who is taught the word share all good things with him who teaches. Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. For the one who sows to his flesh shall from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit shall from the Spirit reap eternal life.” (Romans 15:27; Galatians 6:6-8)

God began to speak to us about the debt we owed to our local church, EFI, and Pastor Miles for all the years of their putting up with our immaturity and helping equip us in our calling. For years, we had sown to our vision and what we wanted, and we reaped very little from our own flesh. Our ministry remained small, unknown, and struggling. It was time we began to repay the debt and sow all we could into our mentors, apostolic covering, teachers, and local church in order to make their missions successful. How could we serve them? How could we bless? How could we support them financially? How could we pray for them?

Sixth, we began receiving our inheritance. For so many years, we had fought and grasped for recognition and ministry. Then, as a passion for the spirit of sonship rose up within us, almost overnight the blessings of God came upon Shiloh Place, Trisha, and me as we began receiving the inheritance that God had spoken over us many times from as far back as 1980: “I will make you a voice of healing and restoration to the nations.” For 17 years we had struggled, but the anointing began to increase in our ability to bring forth the message of the Father’s healing love. More people were being saved than ever before. Ministers’ families were being healed and restored. Invitations began coming in from around the world. Financial support increased dramatically. SPM became a voice of healing and restoration throughout the nations. What we had fought to achieve for years as spiritual orphans had come in a very short time as the favor of God poured out upon us when we began walking in submission and sonship. That is where His inheritance flows! Spiritual orphans do not have legal rights to the inheritance. It is reserved only for sons and daughters.

Many people have been given words that God will use them mightily to minister to others. Yet, it seems the day and the hour of the Lord’s release in your life has been delayed. Others have wondered why they have prayed every prayer known to mankind for deliverance or healing of emotional pain, yet they still battle frustration, anxiety, loneliness, and fears. For Trisha and me, we had to address the hidden, unconscious issues of the spiritual orphan. There is so much more to say about this, and I know this answers some questions and opens the door for many others to be addressed. If you must hear more, you may want to order the 3-audiotape series from SPM, “From Slavery to Sonship.” It goes much more in-depth into this revelation, and is setting captives free, releasing greater anointing in leaders, and having a greater impact than anything we have taught before.

With the Father’s love, Jack & Trisha Frost

(We give our thanks and appreciation to Mark Stibbe and his book, From Orphans to Heirs, and to James & Denise Jordan, for their help in giving us insight into the issues of orphans and sons.)

One of the things we are doing with our core office team at Church Without Limits in 2012 is participate in the Leadership Development Program out of Bethel Church. It involves monthly video conferences, reading and listening assignments, and a number of practical exercises. We are just in the first month but are enjoying it immensely already.

The first book we have to read is Victorious Mindsets by Steve Backlund (short book… really good). As I was reading yesterday one of his points really jumped out at me regarding the topic of receive the love of God during these 12 Days of Relentless Love. God ministers to each of us in a personalized, unique way and in every season there are some that ‘get it’ really easily and others whom it seems to be harder for (I write with experience because I have been on the ‘harder’ side a number of times). For those who are having a ‘harder’ time it can be frustrating to watch others move forward ‘so easily’ and they can be tempted to give up but Steve shared some outstanding insight on receiving by faith and not by feelings.

Check it out:

I Encounter God by Faith, Not Feelings (Overcoming the “something is wrong with me” syndrome)

I remember when I was a “joy-impaired” and “encounter- impaired” Christian. This was highlighted to me during the mid to late 1990’s when there was a fresh move of God on many lives. During that time, multitudes experienced God in dramatic, life changing ways; but when I would receive prayer, nothing hap- pened. I saw others right by me touched powerfully (shaking, falling, seeing visions, and other ecstatic experiences), but I was like the Rock of Gibraltar. It was frustrating.

The devil would “encourage” me at that time by saying, “There is something wrong with you! Actually, there is something seriously wrong with you. If there wasn’t, then you would be having encounters like everyone else.” I would meditate on those words, believe them, and then try harder to experience God. Things though only got worse.

The Lord finally broke through my condemnation and dissappointment. He told me, “Steve, of course there is something wrong with you. That’s why Jesus died for you. Get over it and trust me to take care of anything dangerously wrong with you. And realize that you are misunderstanding how to receive from Me. You are trying to receive by feeling instead of faith. It won’t work if you do it that way. You must believe you are being touched powerfully even if you feel nothing. If you believe; then the feelings, experiences and encounters will come.” Oh, how I needed those words, and I am sure that many of you reading this need those words, too.

I followed this heavenly instruction. I purposed to receive by faith everything that was prayed over me. I didn’t care any more if I felt things or not. It was a whole new victorious mindset that God gave me.

I finally relaxed and received. The amazing thing that happened was that I actually began to have my own experiences (because experience follows faith). It is wonderful to trust God!

Hosea 6:6 – I desire mercy and not sacrifice, And the knowledge of God…

Jeremiah 31:3 – Yes I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with LOVINGKINDNESS I have drawn you…

Hesed – Found about 250 times in the Old Testament, ḥeseḏ means loyal, steadfast, or faithful love based on a promise, agreement, or covenant. – Walvoord, J. F., Zuck, R. B., & Dallas Theological Seminary.

Covenant:

Word covenant is used 314 times in the Bible (NKJV)

It was a solemn agreement between two parties that was never to be broken…

The highest form of covenant was a blood covenant… promises/commitments would be sworn between two parties and it could only be broken by death

Genesis 15 – God makes a covenant with Abraham…

Ever wonder why the Bible makes such a big deal about the “blood of Jesus”? Because when He shed His blood God was making an eternal covenant with man… one that could never be broken

Hesed = loyal, steadfast, faithful love that is forged by covenant… IT IS BLOOD COVENANT LOVE

Some examples of HESED in the Scriptures:

Psalm 89:28 – My mercy will I keep with Him forever, and My covenant shall stand firm with him.

Psalm 57:10 – Your mercy (hesed) reaches the clouds

Deut 7:9 – his mercy to a thousand generations

Isaiah 54:10 – the mountains shall be removed but not my kindness…

Psalm 52:8 – I trust in your mercy

Psalm 136… EVERY VERSE

Psalm 23:6 – surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life…

So I have reached that point… the one that anytime you fast (especially a longer one) you hit… where you really do not feel like fasting anymore. You are tired, your flesh is getting pushed to the edge, the end still seems far away (you look at your calendar and realize that next week at this time you will still be fasting) and you just do not feel like doing this anymore.

So what do you do? It’s simple: keep going!

Why is this so important?

Because you made a commitment to the LORD

Because you have your flesh right where you want it – you are showing it that Jesus is LORD and that it isn’t the boss

Because you are developing perseverance – a character trait that is vital to doing anything in the Kingdom

Because your sacrifice is a tangible sign of your love for Jesus

Because through your fasting you are sowing seeds and you will reap a harvest

Because God has something special for you and if you cut out early you very well may miss part of it.

So how do you keep going?

Ask God for strength and expect Him to give it to you

Call a brother/sister in Christ and get them to pray with you

Take some time to meditate on all that Jesus went through for you, and then compare that to what you are tempted to bail out on

Take some time to worship, or soak in His presence and be renewed

Go to bed (things always look better in the morning)

So…. I’m going to bed and I’m going to keep fasting.

Right at the end of the 12 Days of Relentless Love we are doing a one-day Encounter for our Servant-Leaders at Church Without Limits and we are excited to be welcoming Peter and Heather Jackson to come and minister. The Jackson’s have a very strong ministry in the area of helping people really “get” the Father Heart of God and learn to walk as sons and daughters (I’m really excited about them coming).

On their site, Peter shares a bit of his testimony about his journey in seeing God as Father, and shares some truths that I believe are vital for all of us to go deeper in:

In 1983 I had a moment that changed my life forever. In a vision I saw myself waking up in a cabin that I used to dream about going to with my Dad. It was hunting and fishing paradise in the Canadian Rockies, a few hours drive from where I grew up. My dad had promised to take me there for my 12th birthday, but at the last minute, he cancelled. He was a very successful businessman who was also an alcoholic and a workaholic before he became a Christian and didn’t realize how important it was to me to be able to spend time with him. So, at that moment when I was 12, I made the decision that I would never believe his word again. As far as I was concerned, I didn’t need a father anyway.

Now in this vision, I saw myself as a twelve year old boy on that vacation we never took, waking up in the cabin with my dad. He was preparing breakfast and through sleepy eyes, I peered into the kitchen to see who was making me breakfast. What I saw literally blew my mind.

In today’s Faith Fuel Video Devotional I read an excerpt from Passion for Jesus by Mike Bickle and promised that I would post it here on my blog. What Mike shares here really impacted me and reminded me once again that love is the foundation for everything:

What best motivates a child to want to be like his parents? Is it affirmation and respect, or fear of rejection and guilt? Obviously, the children who are affirmed and feel secure will be the ones who most walk in the ways of their parents. The same principle is true in the spiritual realm. Using wrong motivations to encourage believers to pursue intimacy with Christ – fear, guilt, manipulation – may seem to gain quick results, but those results do not last.

Even spiritual disciplines such as prayer, fasting and Bible study, which are vital, can often result in legalism, pride, insecurity, and morbid introspection if pursued with the wrong motivation.

Christians will sometimes move into action faster if they are told God is angry or losing interest in them, or that they will miss out on the coming revival, losing everything that’s dear to them on Earth if they do not get busy, performing and producing more for the kingdom. However, in the long run, some very sincere believers end up discouraged and burnt out because they’ve built their spiritual lives on this faulty foundation.

The knowledge of God’s deep affection and our full acceptance as His beloved children is the best motivation for consistent spiritual growth. As Paul explained to the Roman believers, “You have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, ‘Abba! Father!’” (Rom. 8:15). Our spirits cry for more of Him when we begin to grasp the implications of being adopted as His children.

Being rooted and grounded in the Father’s love is what best motivates us to greater consistency, spiritual passion, and maturity. As we begin to understand the Father’s affection and the price Jesus paid to redeem us, our hearts melt with gratitude that leads us to devotion.

As you and I pursue intimacy with Jesus, it will become apparent that we are God’s royal children. We will manifest our family’s likeness by conforming to Christ. We will seek to further our family’s welfare by loving our brethren. We will maintain our family’s honor by avoiding what our Father hates, pursuing what He loves, and seeking His glory. As we cultivate intimacy with Jesus, out of the riches of His glory we will be “strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man” (Eph. 3:16)

Passion for Jesus, Mike Bickle, Pg. 152-153

One of the key ingredients for going deeper in the love of God is to spend time meditating in His Word. I have compiled a working list of scriptures that I’m going to be meditating/praying over the 12 Days of Relentless Love that we are going through together at Church Without Limits. The Word of God is a “spring board” for revelation – I find the more I’m in the Word the better I hear God. If we are going to grow deeper in our revelation of His love then what He said in His Word is the best place to start!

The Love of God

Psalm 36:5 – Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies

Psalm 36:7 – How priceless is your unfailing love! Both high and low among men find refuge in the shadow of your wings

Psalm 48:9 – Within your temple, O God, we meditate on your unfailing love

Psalm 52:8 – But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God’s unfailing love for ever and ever

Psalm 86:15 – But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness

Psalm 136:26 – Give thanks to the God of heaven. His love endures forever

John 15:13 – Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends

John 17:20-26 – 20 “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; 21 that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22 And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: 23 I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. 24 “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. 25 O righteous Father! The world has not known You, but I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me. 26 And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”

Romans 8:31-39 – 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written:

“ For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”

37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

2 Corinthians 5:14 – For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, than all died

Ephesians 1:17-23 – 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. 22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

Ephesians 3:14-19 – 14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— 19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Ephesians 5:2 – Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God

Titus 3:4-5 – But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit

1 John 4:9-10 – This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins
