SERMON NOTES: TRUST FALL #3

Prophetic Roadmap for 2019

2019 is a year:

  1. That will rise and fall on our prayer lives.
  2. To step out into new things that God is doing in your life.
  3. For a new level of maturity.
  4. To grow in and develop our faith and to exercise our faith
  5. To stand with our church family members who are believing for spouses
  6. For us to focus our prayer/action on the upcoming National Elections
  7. For us to contend for revival

WATCH YOUR MOUTH!

  • This is a year to grow in and develop our faith and to exercise our faith
  • Habakkuk 2:4, Romans 1:17, Galatians 3:11, Hebrews 10:38 – But the just shall live by faith
  • Everything you are going to walk in is going to require faith in God. If you have faith in God anything is possible
  • Faith Hears. Faith Believes. Faith Acts and FAITH SPEAKS.

I want to talk to you about the power of your words and their connection to faith

Hebrews 11:3 (TPT) – 3 Faith empowers us to see that the universe was created and beautifully coordinated by the power of God’s words! He spoke and the invisible realm gave birth to all that is seen.

  • Everything you and are, see and experience was created by the words of God

Genesis 1:1-5 (NKJV) – 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness [a]was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. 3 Then God said, “Let there be light”…

  • The scriptures were very specific that “God said”… why didn’t they just say “God made” or “God created”
  • Jewish teachers wrote that God made man as another “speaking spirit” just like Him.
  • The ability to speak and form words is one thing that makes us unique from the rest of God’s creation
  • Genesis 1:26a (NKJV) – Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness…
  • We have been made in God’s image and likeness. Thus we have inherited the ability to speak and there is power in our Words!

Proverbs 18:21 (ESV) – A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth; From the produce of his lips he shall be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.

  • The Bible says the power of life and death in is your tongue… it’s in the Words you speak!
  • We are confronted by a choice… do we believe this or not? Once we cross the bridge we need to ask ourselves – what am I releasing through my words?

The Bible is very clear that when we have the ’spirit of faith’ we believe and then we speak

2 Corinthians 4:13 (TPT) – 13 We have the same Spirit of faith that is described in the Scriptures when it says, “First I believed, then I spoke in faith.” So we also first believe then speak in faith.

  • When I’m living by faith I need to pay attention to what I’m saying! When I’m walking in the spirit of faith I believe the word and I speak the word!

Mark 11:22-24 (NKJV) – 22 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. 23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

  • You will have whatever you say
  • Again: we are confronted by a choice… do we believe this or not?
  • Have faith in God – in this teaching we are not trying to make ourselves equal to God. He’s God. We are not. But we are made in His image, we are His children and He wants us to learn to operate the way He operates.
  • If the Bible says you can have whatever you say… what are you saying?
  • Exercise: “Ok, I will agree with you for that’

Someone might say: this is just positive speaking/new age stuff… you can’t deny the facts! We are not denying the facts but acknowledging the truth that is greater than any facts.

Romans 4:17-22 (NKJV) – 17 (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; 18 who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendants be.” 19 And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. 20 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. 22 And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.”

  • God calls those things that be not as though they were – He doesn’t call those things that are as though they are not.
  • Rather than saying “I’m not sick” – what I need to do is saying yeah I’m sick – that’s the facts – but the truth is by Jesus stripes I’m healed
  • Ex: Calling Your Children when you can’t see them
  • Ex: James 3:2-4 (NKJV) – 2 For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body. 3 Indeed, we put bits in horses’ mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body. 4 Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires.
  • Your tongue is the rudder for your life… where are you going? If I hear what you are saying I can tell you where you are going!

James 1:2-8 (NKJV) – 2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces [a]patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be [b]perfect and complete, lacking nothing. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

  • If you are double minded you should expect to receive nothing! It’s theologically correct to also draw from this that if you are double tongued you should expect to receive nothing!
  • Ex: “Church merge – I will build my church”
  • Ex: “Your problem is your big mouth”

I have made you the “Father of many nations” – we looked at Abraham last lesson as an example of the “Father of Faith”

  • We see that God, who calls things that be not as though they were, made him the Father of many nations

Genesis 17:1-8 (NKJV) – When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless. 2 And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.” 3 Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying: 4 “As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations. 5 No longer shall your name be called [c]Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations…

  • Abraham had been standing on a promise from God for a son for over 20 years
  • God changes his name to “Father of Many Nations” and Sarai’s name to Sarah “Mother of Nations”
  • Whenever someone would call their names they were declaring the word of the Lord over themselves!

Revelation 12:10 (TPT) – For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who relentlessly accused them day and night before our God, has now been defeated – cast out once and for all!

Hebrews 7:25-26 (TPT) – 25 Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. 26 For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens;

  • There are two voices speaking over you right now – the accuser and your Great High Priest. Your voice is the deciding vote! What are you going to say?
