MESSAGE NOTES: Crossroads #1

CHOOSE LIFE

Introduction

  • This year our themes have included “Holy Ambition”, “Purpose, Destiny, and Calling” and “Pursuing the purposes of God in our Generation”
  • We are also leaning in for healing, signs and wonders… you and I are called to be “naturally supernatural”
  • As we continue on this journey I have felt led by the Lord to talk to us about the importance and power of our choices

God has given you the power to choose!

  • Holy Ambition is a choice
  • Walking in purpose, destiny and calling is a choice
  • Pursuing the Purposes of God in our generation is a choice

Deut 30:19 (ESV) – 19 I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live,

  • Every day of our life we have the opportunity to choose between life and death, blessing and cursing
  • God makes it easy for us – He says “CHOOSE LIFE”
  • There is a generational component to this

We need to make the decision to CHOOSE LIFE!

Haggai 1:6-7 – 6 You have sown much, and harvested little. You eat, but you never have enough; you drink, but you never have your fill. You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm. And he who earns wages does so to put them into a bag with holes.7 “Thus says the Lord of hosts: Consider your ways

  • So often we want to blame things in our lives on God, or the devil but we forget that we have the power to choose
  • We need to consider our ways
  • So much of where you are now is a product of the choices you have made… you future will will be by in large a produce of the choices you will make.
  • If you want to change your future change your choices
  • It is true that there are some things that are beyond our control, and some things where we do not have a choice – but we still have so many choices within those situations…

What choices will you make?

2 Timothy 2:20-21 (ESV) – 20 Now in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver but also of wood and clay, some for honorable use, some for dishonorable. 21 Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work

  • There are vessels made of gold/silver… and some of wood/clay. Some for honourable use and some for dishonourable
  • THIS IS NOT DECIDED BY GOD. THIS IS NOT DECIDED BY THE DEVIL. THIS IS DECIDED BY US!

You are called…

  • to be vessel for honourable use
  • to be set apart as holy
  • to be useful to the master of the house and ready for every good work
  • Sometimes people feel a tension between teaching in being ’used by God’ and being a ’son or daughter’ but they actually flow together.
  • We are sons and daughters who choose to serve
  • ‘Royalty is my identity; service is my assignment; intimacy with God is my source of strength.’ – Bill Johnson

Bottom Line: We choose…

  • whether we will be honourable or dishonourable vessels.
  • whether we will be set apart as holy
  • whether we will be useful to the master

The Bible word for this is CONSECRATION – to be set apart. Consecration is a choice.

Matthew 22:1-14 (TPT)… 14 For everyone is invited to enter in, but few respond in excellence.”

Deut 30:19 (ESV) – 19 I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live,
